The characters Fenrir and Odin are inspired by the Norse gods of the same name, and are Espers in the game. Phoenix is another character who was based on the Phoenician/Egyptian mythological creature. Ifrit is also based on the Muslim view of the Devil, or at least what they call it. Myths are basis for most imaginary work, since every sort of imaginary work with a storyline and a morale behind it is considered a "Myth". |
